Updated: Jun 3

We are pleased to announce that our K2 student from Holland Village, Yao Jianian took home the third prize for the preschool category at the 17th YMCA Mandarin Speaking Awards this year!

The YMCA Mandarin Speaking Awards has been an annual affair since 2007, with this year being its 17th iteration. The event is organised by the YMCA and co-organised by the Promote Mandarin Council and the Speak Good Mandarin Campaign, and jointly supported and sponsored by ECDA and MOE. This competition endeavours to allow students of different ages to be exposed to the Chinese language and Chinese culture in different ways, stimulate students' interest in learning Chinese, and provide a more diverse environment and opportunities for Chinese language learning. Ms. Gan Siow Huang, Minister of State for the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Manpower, was the Guest-of-Honour for this competition award ceremony.
