Bright and early on a Saturday morning on 20 August 22, preschool professionals and Sunday school teachers converged at the Faith Methodist Church for a time of thanksgiving, prayer and reflections. It was also a time where PPS staff comprising principals, teachers and support staff, shared blessings and got to know their counterparts in the other Christian preschools.
Smartly dressed PPS staff with their white tops and colorful scarves.
After the welcome from Ps Alby Yip from the Zion Bishan Bible-Presbyterian Church, the attendees were blessed with the scripture reading taken from 2 Chronicles 20:12-21, read by two preschool students separately in English and Chinese. Surely our hearts were full when listening to the scriptures with many Hebrew names and 3-syllable words read with confidence, loudly and clearly in front of a room full of adults.
The message titled “Fighting With Fear And Trusting With Thanks” was delivered by Bishop Dr Gordon Wong from the Methodist Church in Singapore. The message was a reminder to place our trust in times in Him when we did not know what to do or became fearful and discouraged.
God’s words assured us that we can fight fear and discouragement not from our own strength but because we have a God who will step in for us. We need only to keep our trust in God for the rest. What a comfort and promise to us from our loving God!
It was so good to catch up with colleagues from the Centres and a great start to the weekend!
